You matter to me…

Warmed-HeartGood evening

How are you?

Enjoying this amazing, hot weather?

I have to say I would be very happy if it continued, sunshine warms the soul, don’t you think? Being outside, waking up to warmth and brightness really cheers you up.

I do believe it makes us more sociable.

I’ve been on a few courses lately, pushing social media, the Web!

It has made me realise how very lucky I am to have a career where I constantly meet people face to face.  Interacting with human beings.

I know from the clients I meet that so many now have jobs whereby you communicate via email, research via the Web, meetings carried out in front of computers.

It saddens me that this is the way of the world and it Will only get worse! IMG_1890 (1)

I love going into town to browse the shops, but sadly more local small businesses cannot compete and end up closing.. Even some of the large stores that have always been around have given in to Online shopping.

I will be a very sad person when the day comes when there are No shops to browse.

Can you imagine having No city centre stores to wander around?

This is an article sent to me that strongly resonates with myself and my business and I would like to express my very sincere thanks to you for choosing me for your precious treatments and valuable ME time and trusting in my expertise, professionalism and advice to purchase your Skincare products from me.

I am forever grateful to you as I am well aware you have options.Youre-More-Special-To-Me-Than-Youll-Ever-Know-Even-More-Than-Ice-Cream

I pledge to you that I will continue giving you the best, up to date, knowledge and advice, coupled with Loyalty schemes for both treatments and #Dermalogica products, samples, Free Gifts, payment schemes.

Without your loyalty my business most certainly would not exist…

If there is anything you would like to see done differently, your opinion means an awful lot to me, anything you would suggest I can do to discourage clients from online shopping?

I look forward to many more years of serving you.

Thank you

And relax….

Hello

beach relaxHow are You?
Are you looking after You?
After speaking to numerous clients I am realising more and more that we really are not taking good care of ourselves.
Have a think -
What have I eaten today? In general, is my diet healthy and nourishing?
How much water have I drank today, its extremely warm outside have I taken enough hydrating fluids?
Have a think about your emotional self -
What are your stress levels like at the moment?
When did you last do something kind for yourself..
Do you take time out to relax, relax
Or just sit with yourself..
Have you considered yoga or pilates for stretching and suppleness.
When did you last experience a relaxing treatment?
Massage for tired, aching muscles
Reflexology for insomnia, anxiety, depression or just complete re-balancing and relaxation.
Is your skin in need of  uplifting, brightening.
Take a few moments to ask yourself if you are really giving the love and care to your body and mind that you truly deserve.
Sending you warm wishes

Brightness from within

brighterskinfromwithinDermalogica’s new BioLumin-C Serum is a revolutionary formula representing a new paradigm in Vitamin C efficacy. Whilst Vitamin C has been used for years in skin care, we took the opportunity to embrace new
technology and research that allows us to finally harness the full power of Vitamin C and enhance the skin’s natural defense system to stop damage before it starts.

Not all Vitamin C formulas are created equal…  see what my clients say:

Makes my skin feel soft and hydrated- amazing – Celia
My skin loves it- already seeing results after 1 week – Paula
My skin feels plump and toned- Nicola
I’m loving it- my skin looks and feels great- Sharon

As one of the most potent antioxidants available, Vitamin C is a true skin care powerhouse. It’s scientifically proven to tackle the biological Dermalogica Serumm Cprocesses that lead to skin ageing. These are Reactive Oxygen Species also known as free radicals, MMP enzyme activity and the reaction of sugar with skin proteins like collagen, known as Advanced Glycation End products. How are we exposed to these processes? Via environmental aggressors such as UV and pollution plus our lifestyle choices of smoking, diet, stress and lack of sleep. They all lead to the accumulation of molecular damage in the skin, ultimately affecting the skin’s integrity, resulting in premature ageing, fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone.

Advanced technology and powerful antioxidants like Vitamin C enable us to stop these biochemical reactions that trigger these structural changes, halting skin damage at its source. But when it comes to formulating with Vitamin C there are two important factors that influence its ability to deliver significant anti-ageing results.

Stability; Vitamin C must be stable in the product for it to remain active. Traditional forms of Vitamin C are easily oxidised when exposed tobioluminc air, light or heat. You may have experienced your Vitamin C serum turn brown, this is  evidence of oxidation which degrades the formulas efficacy.

Bioavailability; In order for Vitamin C to neutralise free radicals, firm and brighten the skin, it must get to where it’s needed, into the deeper layers of the skin. Many Vitamin C products are not optimised to achieve this.

A high-performance serum that works with skin’s own defenses to brighten and firm. Advanced bio-technology fuses ultra-stable Vitamin C and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, helping to dramatically reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Formulated with advanced technology to deliver more Vitamin C into skin. This superior formula outperforms other Vitamin C products (including those formulated at higher concentrations).

Other key ingredients include Vitamin C Complex for brighter, firmer, more radiant skin, Lactic Acid to accelerate cell turnover, Sophora Japonica Flower Extract to help return skin to a calm state after experiencing oxidative stress, and Salvia Hispanica (Chia Seed) Oil to hydrate and help quench free radicals.

brighter skinExfoliates and reduces unbalanced pigmentation.

  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Prevents and corrects free radical damage.

Product Directions

Mindfulness

mindfulWith our work life balance becoming harder and harder each day, week, month, I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you some information on the easiest way to switch off.  There’s no need to take an hour out of your day to practice this calming, mind focusing practice, all you need is a quiet place.

Mindfulness is becoming more popular with each day that goes by, society is looking for new ways to help focus them mind and maintain a calm, effective and focused mind.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing and not overly reactive tomindful overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.  While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.

Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing via your senses, or to your state of mind via thoughts and emotions, you’re being mindful.  And there’s growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodelling the physical structure of your brain.

Who should practice mindfulness?

Anyone can do mindfulness practice.  There are no barriers.  It doesn’t matter how old you are, what your physical ability is, if you’re religious or not…..

Mindfulness is not obscure or exotic.  It’s familiar to us because it’s what we already do, how we already are.  It takes many shapes and goes by many names.

We all already have the capacity to be present, and it doesn’t require us to change who we are.  But we can cultivate these innate qualities with simple practises that are scientifically demonstrated to benefit us in many ways.

How do I practice mindfulness and meditation?

peace procksMindfulness is available to us in every moment, whether through meditations or body scans, or mindful moment practices like taking time to pause and breath when the phone rings instead of rushing to answer it.

The basics of mindfulness practice

Mindfulness  helps us to put some space between ourselves and our reactions, breaking down our conditioned responses.

Here’s how to tune into mindfulness through the day:

1                     Set aside some time.  You don’t need a mediation cushion or bench, or any sort of special equipment to access your mindfulness                        skills – but you do need to set aside some time and space

2                     Observe the present moment as it is.  The aim of mindfulness is not quietening the mind or attempting to achieve a state of                                 eternal calm.  The goal is simple: we are aiming to pay attention to the present moment, without judgement.  Easier said than                            done, I know.

3                     Let your judgements roll by.  When we notice judgements arise during our practice, we can make a mental note of them, and let                         them pass.

4                     Return to observing the present moment as it is.  Our minds often get carried away in thought.  That’s why mindfulness is the                             practice of returning, again and again t the present moment.

5                     Be kind to your wandering mind.  Don’t judge yourself for whatever thoughts crop up, just practice recognising when your mind                         has wandered off, and gently bring it back.

That’s the practice.  It’s often been said that it’s very simple, but it’s not necessarily easy.  The work is just to keep doing it.  Results will accrue.

I offer mindfulness courses throughout the year, please contact me for upcoming dates.

New GDPR Blurb….

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and taking care of your skin.

I am sure you have heard, way too much about the new

Under GDPR, personal data is any information relating to an “identifiable person”. Identifiable information includes such things as a name, ID number, location, ethnicity or political standing. Data doesn’t have to be confidential or sensitive to qualify as “personal”.

Are you jetting off soon/

Are you Jetting off soon?  As you prepare to show more skin, get ready to face the sun’s rays with our top 6 summer skin tips!

 IMG-20180510-WA0006

1. Exfoliate for clearer, smoother skin

What it does: Exfoliation removes dead, dulling skin debris to prevent congestion and improve hydration from toners and moisturisers.

When: Perform in the mornings prior to toner, moisturiser, SPF and make-up application. Tip: Make-up will last longer on an exfoliated skin!

Don’t forget: After you exfoliate, follow with a hydrating body cream to seal in moisture, and always shield freshly exfoliated skin with an SPF (as recommended by the FDA). Recommended: Daily Microfoliant®Exfoliating Body ScrubBody Hydrating Cream.

 2. Keep skin hydrated

How: Up your regimen’s level of hydration with intensive masques, perfect for use one to two times a week. Boosters are a great fit, working best when layered underneath a moisturiser. Toners are a refreshing moisturiser prep, working to even out skin porosity. Tip: Refresh with a revitalizing toner spritz at your desk, in the car, at the gym, on the plane!

Recommended:  Antioxidant HydraMistSkin Hydrating BoosterSkin Hydrating Masque.

3. Make friends with H20

IMG-20180510-WA0005

Why: Higher temperatures and more time outdoors leads to internal dehydration, which can result in headaches and dizzy spells!

What you can do: Eight 8-ounce glasses of plain, filtered water every day help maintain critical moisture balance of the body and skin, and assist in detoxification. Tip: If you drink caffeinated beverages, you must triple the amount of water you drink!

Recommended:  Plain and pure water!

IMG-20180510-WA0003When in doubt, apply (and reapply!)

Why:  It’s not enough to just apply sunscreen.: you must apply enough, and apply frequently.   Studies indicate that most people do not apply nearly as much daylight protection as they should.

How much: A teaspoon for the face. For the body, about as much as would fill a shot glass.

How often: Re-apply every two hours. Tip: Stay out of the midday sun from mid-morning to late afternoon whenever you can.

IMG-20180510-WA0004Bonus: Today’s sophisticated formulas and technology let you select sun protection that works with your skin condition. That means you can choose oil-free, mattifying formulas, extra emollient formulas for dry skin, or chemical free formulas for sensitised, reactive skin.
